Back-tracking
Rush forward,
Only to slide further back;
Take a short-cut,
Only to get hopelessly lost.
I make a plan, it leads me back to myself,
I let the plan find me, I am led beyond myself;
I chart a course, it leads me in circles,
I go off course, I finally sail the deep sea.
The harder I look, the less I see,
A small point, ever-narrowing.
The harder I scheme, the less I control,
Trapped in suffocating structures.
I know what I know,
And what I know,
Cannot teach me anything unknown, ‘
I see what I see,
And what I see,
Cannot show me anything unseen.
To grow,
Means not planning but adjusting.
To know,
Means not grasping, but releasing.
